Water Stains contemplates how depression affects one’s perception of time. While paying homage to the experience of time “just floating by” during major depressive episodes, it also highlights the contradiction of each drop of time feeling more overwhelming than the last. Is it the elusiveness as well as the aggression of time that exacerbate the constraining feelings associated with depression? And do these constraints make us blind to others around who may be going through the same thing?
